Comparison of Skyfall, Kingsman and Moonlight
One of the similarities between the films, is the fact that in all three films, the main character is a male. Even though, the main character is a male, they act and behave differently as they were covering different genres, which are action, drama and crime. For example, in the film Sky fall, the main character is the famous James Bond, who again has his impossible missions to be successfully completed. The way he acts, it's affected by the idea the producers were trying to give the audience, and it takes up to the title of the film "Skyfall", as the character has always been the strongest, unbeatable, most experienced throughout the serie, and he seems like he is finally falling.
Whereas, the way the main character in Moonlight (Little, Chiron, Black) is presented,it's very untypical, as he is not the typical black guy from the hood that the audience would normally expect to see. He is first shown as a little guy who continuously gets bullied and insecure, then as a teenager who is still affected by his previous experiences and struggles to get through his life, then finally as a grown man who is no more afraid to present himself as who he really is and decides to deny it to himself but then eventually embrace it. As you can see, the genre is totally different from the other two films, as it covers other type of topics, such as homosexuality and drug abuses. Even though, the main character is a male, he is not shown as the audience would usually expect to see him, as the producers wanted to show the difficulties he faces with his sexuality and identity, including the physical and emotional abuse he endures growing up in order to get a stronger reaction off the audience, and not follow media stereotypes.
Lastly, the film Kingsman, where the main character is Eggsy, who having dropped out of training for the Royal Marines despite his intelligence and capability, has become a stereotypical chav. He is then found by a secret private intelligence service to become the new Galahad. In this film, the teenager does not struggle as much as in the film Moonlight, as producers made the film more comic rather than dramatic. It is really different from the other films, as he behaves not seriously and funny throughout the film, rather than focusing more on crime, pride or drama. This is because, even though the genre might be the same, the way the present it, it's different.
