Meek Mill denied bail again Incarcerated rapper Meek Mill has had his latest bid for bail shot down after he was deemed a "danger to the community". The Ima Boss hitmaker, real name Robert Rihmeek Williams, recently began serving his sentence for two-to-four years behind bars after violating his probation relating to a 2008 drug and gun bust. Meek's lawyers quickly challenged the ruling and have been trying to secure his release ever since, as well as have Pennsylvania's Judge Genece Brinkley removed from the case, accusing her of defying prosecutors' recommendation for no prison time due to her own personal vendetta against the hip-hop star. Last week (ends01Dec17), the defence lawyers turned to officials at Pennsylvania's Superior Court to step in amid claims Judge Brinkley has been ignoring their motions for bail, asking them to consider their emergency petition to free Meek pending their appeal. Superior Court judges declined to grant the bail

Daddy's Home 2 takes custody of the UK box office   Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg-starring comedy sequel Daddy’s Home 2 landed top after a Fri-Sun result of $3.66m (£2.74m) from 505 sites, an average of £5,426, plus extensive previews across the week which garnered $2.87m (£2.15m). That puts it on a non-final $6.52m (£4.88m), with a few sites yet to be added. That’s an improvement on previous entry Daddy’s Home, which opened to $2.18m (£1.63m) from 438 sites, albeit from only a two-day opening stretch over the 2015 Christmas weekend. The original Daddy’s Home was powered by strong word of mouth to a stunning £17.4m. Paramount will be hoping the sequel can play to audiences all the way to Christmas. Word of mouth will be a crucial factor

Production Cycle

The  production process  refers to the stages (phases) required to complete a  media product, from the idea to the final master copy. The  process  can apply to any type of media production  including film, video, television and audio recording. This process involves five stages that is pretty much standard across the board. The filmmaking production cycle revolves around these five stages, making it an orderly process that somehow provides structure to the whole production process that typically involves hundreds of people. Here are descriptions of each of the five stages of filmmaking. 1. Development The first part of the stages of filmmaking is where the idea for the film is born. Concepts from a book, a play, true stories, other movies or original ideas are pondered upon and developed to create a viable theme, synopsis and eventually, a script. Once an idea for a story is created, a treatment for it is produced. This is a 25 to 30 page description of the story, the char

I'm going to be creating a magazine article covering the following topic: How black and white teenagers are represented in certain music videos. I would be creating a magazine front cover, as well as, a two-pages article covering the topic. I will be using two teenagers from two different ethnicities to put on my front cover in order, to give a little idea on what the magazine and the articles in it are about. The article would cover areas such as : different backgrounds,  different cultures, different values and how they want to be seen from the audience.  The picture of 50 cent clearly follow media stereotypes, as he is seen with guns in hands, wearing a golden chain, very muscular body, with a straight face almost ready to fight or be violent. Compared to 50 cent, Eminem is shown a little different, as he is the most popular white rapper known. The way he presents himself, its different,  as he has tattoos, which is usually link to bad reputation and dirtiness. Howe

How George Michael used his single 'Outside' to tell people he would not be shamed for his sexuality George Michael knew better than anyone that success is the best revenge, and nothing proves that more than his triumphant single 'Outside'.  It was the first single he released after  being arrested for engaging in a 'lewd act' in a public toilet in Beverly Hills, California , in 1998. Michael was handed a £500 fine and 80 hours of community service. The incident prompted him to come out as gay in public - a detail of his personal life that had been the subject of rumour for several years - and subjected him to malicious tabloid headlines and moral outrage. Many celebrities at the time would have issued a grovelling apology before going into hiding for the next year.  Instead Michael released 'Outside', a joyous, disco-infused jam that used self-deprecating humour to poke fun at the incident; even including direct samples of radio reports on

Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ Passes One Million in Sales A million Taylor Swift buyers can’t be wrong. With performances on “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday night, “Reputation” has gone over a million in sales in just its fourth day on the market, with 1.5 million in its sights, according to reports from BuzzAngle, with about 2/3 of retailers reporting today. That is, of course, without any streaming services, which Spotify’s Troy Carter has already criticized as encouraging piracy. It is Swift’s fourth straight album with a million-selling week, and her largest sales week ever. Her previous album, “1989,” bowed with 1.29 million in October of 2014, according to Nielsen Music. Swift is already the only act to have three different albums sell a million copies in a week since 1991. “Reputation” is the year’s best-selling album, topping Ed Sheeran’s “Divide,” which has sold more than 900,000 copies. Robert Pattinson reveals how ‘Harry Potter’ role stopped him from going to university Robert Pattinson has revealed how his role in  Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire meant that he was unable to attend university. The actor, who played Cedric Diggory in the fourth big screen adaptation of JK Rowling’s novels, says that filming went “way over schedule” on the fantasy movie, which meant that he was unable to attend school to study for his A-Levels. “It went so far over schedule. I couldn’t go”,  he told Time Out. “It was supposed to be four months, but it ended up being ten or 11. I’d turn up to set every day but not work for weeks at a time [because he wasn’t needed for filming].I was 17 and I was the only person who wasn’t in school. I’d just hang about.” He also explained how he’s yet to see Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, the West End sequel which focuses on what happens when a disastrous attempt is made to resurrect Cedric Diggory from the dead. “I haven’t y

Comparison of Skyfall, Kingsman and Moonlight

Image
One of the similarities between the films, is the fact that in all three films, the main character is a male. Even though, the main character is a male, they act and behave differently as they were covering different genres, which are action, drama and crime. For example, in the film Sky fall, the main character is the famous James Bond, who again has his impossible missions to be successfully completed. The way he acts, it's affected by the idea the producers were trying to give the audience, and it takes up to the title of the film "Skyfall", as the character has always been the strongest, unbeatable, most experienced throughout the serie, and he seems like he is finally falling.  Whereas, the way the main character in Moonlight (Little, Chiron, Black) is presented,it's very untypical, as he is not the typical black guy from the hood that the audience would normally expect to see. He is first shown as a little guy who continuously gets bullied and insecure,

Explore how black and white ethnicities are differently represented in 2016-2017 music videos using “big for your boots” by Stormzy; “4 days” by 67 featuring monkey, dimzy and r6; and “what makes you beautiful” by One direction as examples. Black and white ethnicities have been differently throughout the years, especially in the 21 st century, where differences are evident and easily noticed in the music industry as the media consistently affects people’s views and opinions by supporting stereotypes.  I decided to use those certain examples, as I believe they successfully support today’s stereotypes over white and black ethnicities. Labels The artists are owned and sponsored by different music labels, which affects the way they are presented in their music video. The different labels interact with the way they are presented as they try to express their thoughts about different topics and stereotypes through the artists they sponsor. St
