The former drug addict who found God and built a successful business
Source: BBC NEWS I chose this certain news's story just because it creates a sort of confusion to the audience as teenagers are usually represented as bad and probably with bad attitudes. This would seem really different than the typical stories shown in the news about teenagers before. This one talks about a former drug addict teenager who turned his life around, and became a successful businessman. I believe that this news is described in a positive way because a white young man is described rather than a black one. This, again, shows how a black community is most of the time not treated equally as white communities. BBC clearly says: " While the cynical may raise their eyebrows, Ryan, now 37, says he discovered God and quit overnight. ", religion is now brought in the context to show christianity in a positive way. Two picture of him are shown to allow the audience to spot differences, to also provide clear evidence of his changes after all these years
